In her first year of college, Jay Koh’s journey as a communication leader started as an economic journalist. Since then, Jay has intentionally leaned into learning everything she can about the art and the science of communication which led to opportunities spanning external and internal communications in the industry.
After graduating, with ambition and drive, Jay started to work as a broadcasting producer in TvN, one of the most significant broadcasting companies in South Korea. Her main responsibilities include conceptualizing, shooting, and editing videos. She also needs to work with celebrities on marketing, public relations, and branding designs.
While she is proud of most of the campaigns she has worked on, her best work has been helping build an empathetic organizational culture with the power of vulnerability in a rigid high-pressure industry. Jay expects to expand her imperfection-tolerant and communicative orientation to a professional career in contributing to an empathetic society where all members feel respect and peace and develop resilience after any kind of slump or adversities.
Now, Jay looks upon focusing her creative professional development on social values that she cares for and adding new expertise in the digital landscape. That’s why she decided to go to the Commlead program, where she will be able to learn how to produce proper storytelling content and advanced techniques accordingly. By learning deeper about the professional mechanism and accumulating social networks, Jay believes that her enhanced understanding of the fields would expand a range of opportunities for her to grab for her next career.
Although worrying about being far detached from the professional world, Jay decided to take the first and biggest challenge right now in her life. With determination, she will make the most out of the graduate experiences in the CommLead to overcome her doubts and finally achieve her goal. She will broaden her career as a digital storyteller and identify her next destination for my career at last. Most importantly, she will try to be more convinced and firmer about her path and herself than ever.
